The regional court of Gombe/Kinshasa has granted permission to Canal Futur, the television channel belonging to Vital Kamerhe, to cover the corruption trial of the Chief of Staff for President Felix Tshisekedi. The Chief Staff Vital Kamerhe will stand trial on 11 May 2020 on charges of corruption and money laundering. He was arrested in April after being summoned by the Attorney General in Matete to answer questions on the misappropriation of funds allocated for the President's 100 DAYS EMERGENCY PROGRAM. Kamerhe has denied any wrong doing and has expressed confident that he will prove in innocence in court. Meanwhile Kamehre supporters have labelled his arrest as a political conspiracy to prevent him from contesting the 2023 Presidential Election , part of an agreement signed between him and President Felix Tshisekedi
